Timo Maas – Loud

mod.timomaas loud Timo Maas LoudFor those of you expecting this Tech-Trance guru’s first album to be a typical walk in the park with slamming tunes all the way through you’d better be prepared for a change of pace from the man from Germany.

While having some good floor filling edgy tunes on this album, he also blends some very mellow tunes, and adds a lot of groovy flavor to it as well. The music that Timo puts together with his production mate Martin Buttrich can best be described as Tech-Funk for the future. It is clear to see influences from Chemical Brothers, The Orb, and Fatboy Slim (of which he includes some of his samples) on this work of art.

While the album may catch you off guard, it definitely makes you want to go out and tell other people to buy it. It’s a well produced mood moving mix of funk, techno, downtempo, and slammin Tech-trance. A well conceived album that takes you on a journey through hills and valleys of many different styles that will surely please the masses, if not the Maases.
