Massive Attacks Robert 3-D del Naja and Blurs Damon Albarn are planning a second set of anti-war advertisements in next month’s NME (an English music magazine) leading up to a demonstration against the impending war in Iraq. The demonstration will take place February 15th in London.
Last year 3-D and Damon designed and financed a number of ads in NME to rally opposition towards the British involvement in the US’s attack on Iraq. They have reportedly been working with CND and the ‘Stop The War’ coalition. 3-D told NME: “We did the ads prior to the march. This time around we’ll be lobbying Parliament on the 21st and then we’re going to do the march on the 15th of February.
Massive Attack will be embarking on a very anticipated world tour this year. They plan on having CND, Stop The War and Red Cross present at all their shows, including the American stops.
As well, Massive Attack are also planning on releasing the Sinead O’ Connor-sung ‘A Prayer For England’, a song taken from their new album ‘100th Window’, and donate the funds to charity.
