A UN Ambassador for UNESCO and activist for Human Rights, in addition to being an acclaimed international electronic music trailblazer, JEAN-MICHEL JARRE has tirelessly campaigned over the years for the right to free speech. “Exit”–his collaboration with Edward Snowden which appears on his May 6 album release ELECTRONICA VOL. 2: THE HEART OF NOISE (Sony Music/RED)–reveals yet another side to the multi-faceted producer.  The video for the song, which debuted yesterday via The Verge, can now be seen herehttps://youtu.be/YNESMafb5ZI

Incorporating Snowden’s delivery of his core message, JARRE layers and sculpts the American’s words around a driving techno beat that thrillingly keeps building momentum. Music, politics, technology, controversy and privacy are themes represented in the “Exit” video.

ELECTRONICA VOL. 2: THE HEART OF NOISE is the follow-up to the widely lauded Electronica Vol. 1: The Time Machine LP. With music across both volumes from the Pet Shop Boys, Primal Scream, Pete Townshend, Julia Holter, Lang Lang, Cyndi Lauper, Laurie Anderson, AIR and Peaches to name but a few, JEAN-MICHEL JARRE has assembled his very own dream team of artists to collaborate with across ELECTRONICA.  The song “As One” with Primal Scream is available today as an instant grat with advance purchase of the album.

Look for JEAN-MICHEL JARRE to return to the international stage in 2016 and beyond following the release of VOL. 2, launching at Sonar in Barcelona, Spain on June 17. With a unique and brand-new super production, JARRE will play major venues like the 02 Arena in London and AccorHotels Arena in Paris, in addition to further dates in Germany, Scandinavia, Poland, Austria, Switzerland and many more. See below for the full dates.

About JEAN-MICHEL JARRE:
JEAN-MICHEL JARRE has been one of the pioneering forces throughout the electronic music scene over the last four decades, having originally made his name in the 1970s for his critically acclaimed album OXYGENE. OXYGENE was unmistakably a catalyst that set electronic music well on its way to becoming the behemoth that it is today, with JEAN-MICHEL’s music and follow through albums (Equinoxe, Magnetic Fields, RendezVous, Chronology) breaking down boundaries of composing and production paving the path for what has become today the most popular genre of music of all time.  With over 80 million albums sold worldwide to date, musicians and contemporary DJs often refer to JARRE’s influence and innovation, not only for his music but also for his singular vision and creation of outdoor concerts experience.  JEAN-MICHEL JARRE’s legendary concerts have attracted Guinness Record-breaking audiences, with his live shows often, if not always, taking place in some of the most extraordinary settings worldwide. He was the first western musician ever to be invited to perform in post-Mao China, and has also played the likes of the Great Pyramids in Egypt, The Sahara Desert and The Eiffel Tower in addition to perhaps his most famous performance ever, where he played to a record 3.5 million people in Moscow. All in all, JARRE has held Guinness World Records for the largest live audiences over the continents.   JEAN-MICHEL JARRE is synonymous with the legendary as he continues to break new ground with each piece of music and live performance.
