“I’m honored to be part of such a powerful new blend of rock n roll,” says Shaddix. “The Hu are the real deal. Don’t sleep on this.”

THE HU have been making waves across the globe with many sold-out shows and festival appearances presenting their signature brand of “hunnu rock“–a one-of-a-kind mixture of Western rock music combined with traditional Mongolian instrumentation and throat-singing sung in their native language. Earlier this week, December 10, the electrifying live act completed their last show of 2019 in Los Angeles at the Fonda Theatre. This marked the conclusion of their acclaimed three-month long headlining North American tour, which sold over 34,000 tickets with a 66% sell-out rate, equaling 39 sold-out dates total. THE HU will continue their touring in January 2020 across the UK/EU for 23 shows, of which 14 are already sold-out.

The impact they made in 2019 worldwide is also evident in the critical acclaim and year-end best-of lists that the band’s BETTER NOISE debut, THE GEREG found itself listed on. Loudwire listed THE GEREG among its Top Albums of 2019 and Revolver Magazine listed the band’s video for “Great Chinggis Khaan” among their Top 10 of the year. In the UK THE GEREG placed among Top Albums of 2019 in Classic Rock and Metal Hammer Magazines.

Here’s some critical praise from their recent shows:

“With so bracing a combination of sights and sounds, the Hu have been forging a highly improbable connection between the complexities of traditional Mongolian music and the 10-ton force of western metal.”
–Jim Farber, The Guardian, 10/22/19

A thirteen-song set, followed by a single-song encore, without a single lyric in English, and with a front line of musicians playing instruments that are as foreign to the vast majority of audience as the musicians playing them. And the room was still packed to the point of barely able to move, with cheers and adoration moving back and forth between the stage and the crowd. That was the scene last Wednesday night when The Hu, an eight-piece rock band playing primarily traditional folk instruments, hit the stage at The Ready Room in St. Louis. The added support of the guitar, bass, and drums brought the harder-rock backbone to underlie the Mongolian folk flesh that is the music of The Hu, and it makes for an amazing sound on record, and even more astounding in person.”
Mike Sorensen, Herald Whig (St. Louis, MN), 11/8/19

“The concert experience was incredibly powerful, unsurpassed by any previous acts I have seen… The HU’s tribal rhythms got everybody’s heads bobbing. The room was pulsing with an indescribable sonic energy, akin to that of a swaying heartbeat pumping its way through the crowd to the beat of synchronized drum hits and Mongolian fiddles. Song after song, the packed crowd moved at the fingertips of the brotherhood before them. It was a mesmerizing performance.”
–Hunter Walwaski, The Concordian, (Montreal, ON), 9/24/19

“This was a wildly successful night for not only The Hu, but for all their newly formed fans as well. With another sold out show under their belt, The Hu is cementing themselves as more than just a phenomenon, but a truly unique and brilliant band that has created a genre unto themselves. For all the lucky people that managed to snatch up tickets for this show, they will be the ones that can say we saw their very first tour.”
