
America’s Best DJ will be named Tuesday, Sept. 2, along with silver, bronze finalists
LAS VEGAS - The country’s top DJs will be announced Tuesday, Sept. 2, at the third annual America’s Best DJ finals taking place at Rouge at MGM Grand, Las Vegas.
The invite-only reception and presentation will take place from 7 to 9 p.m., followed by an open-to-the-public celebration from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., featuring some of the top-ranking America’s Best DJ finalists spinning live. Among those confirmed to appear are one of the legendary trailblazers of turntablism, DJ Qbert; Thrive recording artist and MTV star DJ Skribble; West Coast trance star Christopher Lawrence; and DJ Scotty Boy, voted Vegas’ Best Local Resident DJ in 2005.
Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the finalists from a field of 100 DJs from across the country, with winners being decided from fans’ ballots. The list of competitors is Olympic in scope and includes some of the top names in the dance-music industry, including DJ AM, Crystal Method, Tommy Lee and DJ Aero, and Moby.
Sponsored by Pioneer Pro DJ and presented by DJ Times, ClubPlanet.com and the International DJ Expo, dance and club music enthusiasts have been voting since May 1 online at www.americasbestdj.net and in person at 40 events held throughout the nation.
Along with the medal, the winner will receive top-of-the-line DJ packages from Pioneer, and the bragging rights that go along with being named America’s Best DJ.
